Jomel N. Manaig is a Junior Partner of Du-Baladad and Associates (BDB Law). He is a CPA-lawyer with 13 years of experience in the field of taxation. Together with Senior Partner Irwin Nidea, they lead the Litigation Department of the Firm.

His specialization includes tax litigation, tax advisory and tax planning, tax assessments and claims for refunds, local taxation, transfer pricing, mergers and acquisitions, special projects, and corporate services. He handles local and multinational companies in banking and finance, construction, education, information technology, insurance, logistics and shipping, manufacturing, mining, petroleum, power and energy, telecommunications, and trust and investments.

His notable work includes successful representation relating to various tax refunds of the largest petroleum corporation in the Philippines. He is also instrumental in the preparation of Transfer Pricing Documentations for: (i) a group of one of the top educational institutions in the Philippines; (ii) one of the leading telecommunication companies in the Philippines and its subsidiaries; and (iii) several business segments of one of the largest conglomerates in the Philippines.

Jomel, together with Irwin, developed and spearheaded the Digital Tax and Foreign Investments Watch, a comprehensive publication on everything and anything of importance in these topics. The creation of these publications is timely as there is limited information during its release.
